Help me find a club; flying on a Saturday morning, within 30 miles of Congleton

I'm struggling to find a club flying in my area on a Saturday morning; I've even tried contacting the local plane flyers who say I can fly in their field but they don't seem to be around on a Saturday morning.

I've got somewhere to fly on my own after 11am, but it would be good to get into a club or anywhere that is flying from 9am to 1pm

I'm prepared to travel; this is the fourth Saturday morning in a row I've had a drive round a few clubs (Crewe, Winsford, or Macclesfield) to see if anyone is flying and there is never anyone around!

So can anone suggest anywhere South of Manchester, north of Stone, Staffordshire, West of Buxton and east of Wrexham. I'm ready to fly now.

Hi Ian, think we spoke a few months ago. Did you manage to visit our club in winsford? Although most members tend to fly on sunday you can fly there any day you like. As you know i live in congleton and would be happy to meet up with you and show you the club. Sundays are the busier day but could try and meet up on a saturday?

Tony, it was me, and I have visited SCHA (on a Saturday) and found the field I just don't fancy being in the middle of nowhere on my own if heli and flesh have unplanned interaction!

i take it sundays arent doable for you then?

i used to fly at the club in eaton but was mostly on my own there. There is another club in middlewich behind the salt cellar pub, but as far as im aware most clubs locally tend to meet on a sunday

Hi Ian, I live local to the field so can always meet up when you fancy. I'm still learning but Tony will be best if you need help with more than the basics. Its a great club anyway and there are no flying restrictions

Sundays are just not possible at the moment; I'll have to change that. Thanks for the offers re-Saturday; but I do not want to put anyone to any extra effort on my behalf.

I've managed to arrange things to allow me to pop over to SCHA tomorrow (Sunday) for some flying, its a pity I can't arrange the weather tho'. I'm so wishing the forecasters get it wrong! Or at least the rain blows over early in the morning and then the wind dies down.

If you guys are going, what time will you be there?

ill be there from around 10 oclock ian. Not stopping long though going to visit a mate in hostpital

What a difference 90 minutes can make to the weather; from heavy rain and high/gusty winds to sunshine and almost calm at 10:35!

Thanks guys for the flying today; its a pity I left before the wind dropped! Hopefully I'll make it again soon and join the club;, how do you let each other know when you are going up to the field?

i wish there was someplace we could all meet as a club midweek even if it was a pub or somewhere. I have been down and the guys are all very nice.
I havent been lately because of operations on my elbows and another set of procedures coming up
An indoor club midweek would be great to learn from the guys and maybe get more people involved etc.

was good to see you at the field Ian, to be honest if the weather is fair there will always be people at the field. You can always post on the SCHA website to see if people are heading down
