Reality Bites completes his first solo flight of his Trex 550

He will kill me for doing this, but I'm proud of him and want to share!

My buddy has been putting in a little sim time and had a brief stint with a MCPX, but for his first couple of flights on his newly built Tex 550, Alan used training gear and I was back up on a buddy lead.

Today, Alan made the decision to go for it and completed a 5 minute flight unaided and solo - completely uneventful - so much so that I felt confident enough to leave his side and capture the moment for him on camera. I'm not so sure he was happy with me running off with my camera though LOL

I don't recall being so nervous. All the time and money you put into building your first model and you put it in the air for the first time on your own.....!

Obviously I was so much more calmer when Dom decided to bugger off with his camera instead of talking me through it!

Well done Alan, who needs a buddy lead anyway . Amazing feeling once you've landed and had a quiet soiling session huh?? Did my first circuit with my logo today, so that feeling is still quite fresh in my mind lol!! Keep it up.

I got a real buzz from my back side when Dom not only appeared in front of me but then started shouting orders such as "keep it there" as he snapped pictures :-/

Glad I took to jump of removing the girly gear and going alone.....great help confidence wise.
