Does anyone know if there are any of these heli's still doing the rounds?

After reading reviews of them both years ago I'd loved to have owned one of each for totally different reasons.

Does anyone still have one or has anyone even flown one?

    Yes i have 2 3dnt helis
Not flown in a while but still very good.
They do come up on BMFA every now and again.
    A classic in the making
Not come across a rocket though

I think both were very well thought out helis both with a specific purpose in mind the Rocket was a speed machine with a OS140? For power.

Yeah, keep an eye on BMFA, I have seen a 3dnt not long ago. I was quite tempted to buy it, as Jan still produces the spares.

I really liked the 3DNT I had, loved it's lazy grace and low HS ability. If you get the chance buy one, you won't be disappointed.
Decent power from straight fuel is not a bad thing these days either.

Really miss my 3DNT, but when I moved over to electric, I didnt think about doing a conversion, so it got sold.
Andy Man (ACWMAN on RCHA) had a rocket, but I think he moved it on.

On the nitro powered 3DNT, does the engine turn clockwise? I saw one for sale not too long ago but it looked like you'd need a starter with an aero style starting cone wired to run clockwise, correct me if I'm wrong. Other than that I do like the look of them, really 'outside the box' thinking. I'd like to see how the flybarred version flies.

Just sold 2 of these on BMFA a coupe of month back ! airframes only £120 for both !!
A bit dated now (in my opinion)

Yeah, Engine is HGL I believe which runs clockwise, the original kits came with an appropriate one way starter.

I am lucky enough to have a pair of 3DNT's and a pair of 3DNT Classics (frame conversion designed by Russ Deakin? and NHP which allows you to use all of the 3DNT machanics in a more standard frame/ undercarriage layout). The OS 91 was available with a reverse direction crank to allow the blades to rotate clockwise. If you used a standard engine the blades went CCW. The Lotterle slide carb allowed the engine to delelop all the power on straight fuel. Not flown any of them for a while now as I mostly play with electrics at the moment, so I have to be content with an XL-E and a TDR.

                        Hi Rainman,

I'd love to see the 3DNT Classic, if you have some pics you could sling up.

Hi Richard. You still have the classics I sold ya all them years ago!
3dnts were the most enjoyable models I ever had. I do miss them sometimes.
                            Look forward to the photos.
