I had fun today. After a bit the wind more or less stopped which was nice. It was still windy elsewhere of course but our field was in the dead air right beneath the arch of cumulus lenticularis .

today i actually flew someone elses heli for the first time.
Only a rappy30 with training balls. Its first flight.
It flew fine.
He has a CSM430 driving a 3001 on the tail. Should I advise him to upgrade that tail servo? Its was fairly sloppy on the tail and the added intertia of the training gear doesn't help.
What revs should the head be doing on a 30? (TT46)

I had a good (but cold) day today as well, took the Rappy and the Mini Titan out and had a few hours down at the field.
The book suggests a headspeed of 1550 for basic hovering which is fine for learning. I have a 401/9254 set up and it works a treat, I would imagine until you get into some serious stuff that would be a good way to go.

THe CSM 430 is supposed to be just like my 560 but without the pc interface.
My 560 with 9254 is doing great for me. No real need to upgrade fro me at the moment.

With a 9254 this guys 30 should be good to go with the CSM430, my 560 is all default settings so it should be the same as mine. I just wondered how good it could be with a 3001, or will it just wear the servo out in a short time?

gordon i fitted a hitec hs-6965hb to my 30 tail today its half the price of a 9254, and there is no noticable difference for gently flying etc(phoot 401 gyro)
