I loved it. Don't like cats anyway and what's the problem, people eat animals like lambs, stuff animals, the poor chicken is well abused to feed us and some animals are vermin. Dunno if I'd use it to scare the cows though.

I find it highly objectionable to depict animals in such an undignified manner and will write a letter of complaint to the management.
Heh, I managed to say it with a straight face
Taking off my animal activist (fur) hat, I think it's hilarious.
Pity that the cat died, but I'm sure most cats would prefer this over being turned into soap.
At least you keep getting all the attention and can chase cows now and then ...

[QUOTE=pgkevet;928706]I find it interesting how different societies view such matters. Most folk here own cow leather shoes, many have pigskin gloves or briefcases and lotsa ladies will ahve doeskin lined jewel boxes etc..then leather sofas and car seats. few would even think twice about a stag-head or similar mounted on a wall or a stuffed fish in a glass case. At the end of the day the cat was dead anywa..rather than killed to make a quad. You can argue it's recycling at it's finest. Yes you can argue that it shows a lack of respect but then there's tribes that keep their mumified relatives in the hut as a mark of respect - that'd be considered a tad bizarre in the average semi.
Totally, different societies and cultures treat animals and lots of other things in very different ways. But again... Cows, Pigs, Deer, Fish have all been used for industrial as well as food purposes since the middle ages, before and beyond. Therefore in our society we are desensitised to the "treatment" of those species and its more common place to accept there fate so to speak. People in India would obviously be horrified at this, as they have very strong beliefs about cows and basically treat them as gods. Whereas in a lot of places in Asia the general feeling seems to be if it moves... eat it. Also in parst of Korea it is common place to eat dogs. Its difficult... we see horrifying pictures from that part of the world depicting blood stained industrial yards with hundreds of dead dogs strewn on the floor. Our instant reaction is to be appalled by it as a westerner and feel a sense of anger. In reality this is not fair to the Korean people and there way of life because this is what they have done for an age and it is only the same feeling of injustice the population of India feel when they see how we treat Cows.
Plus... i dont think it is a case of showing a lack of respect, it is more a case of finding it in bad taste
Im an animal lover and harbour some very extreme beliefs regarding the methods used to punish people responsible for acts of animal cruelty. But this is NOT animal cruelty..... it's just in bad taste imo. But lets face it.... things that are in bad taste are often very funny. Hence people like Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle having careers. Both of which i think are hilarious for that very reason by the wayLast edited by SaneAdam; 09-11-2012, 07:17 PM.Stainburn Helicopter Club
