  • What battery checker?

As above what battery checker do you use at the field? Biggest lipo I have is 3s but it's a pain trying to take readings with a multimeter. What features are needed / not needed . Maybe post a link to what you use!

I use a fusion smart gaurd, but this one looks identical and is a few quid cheaper

Nimh and Lipo Voltage, Cell and Capacity Battery Checker

they are not really used for accuracy more just a guide to usage/charge state etc

    the smart gaurd

I didn't spend anything like that, Cheapy ebay voltage checker for a couple of quid, not the best in the world but does 1-6 cells and its only purpose in life is to avoid me sending a heli up with an already spent battery

TBH Mark that is all you need at the field. Your charger should be doing all the "worrying" all thats needed whilst out flying is a way of checking charge state.

That's the same as I us.

            Been thinking of buying another.
One for flying and one next to my charging.
            Thanks for the reminder

+1 on the smart guard 2. It also has a balancing function which worked better than my old blade provided balance chargers that came with my BNF 450s. Since I got an icharger though, don't use that function anymore.

Of the fifty or so folks that fly electric in Taunton, I think just about everyone has the fusion smartgaurd as mentioned above.

I use one like this RC Lipo Battery Low Voltage Tester 1S-8S Buzzer Alarm Checker Test LED Indicator | eBay , permanently attached to the heli. Gives very loud signal when battery (any cell, under load!) has dropped below threshold.
