Get yourself a tin of silicone spray grease with PTFE. Never mind anyone telling you it's too heavy or it attracts dirt or any other similar BS. It's a non-setting grease with an extremely low viscosity. It will stick to and lubricate the shaft. It will prevent corrosion, and its viscosity is low enough to render differences in full - to + pitch change times all but immeasurable... and you can use it on just about anything.

I use ElyQ HP grease on OWBs, thrust bearings and feathering shaft. On main and tail shafts (and most other bearings), I apply a small amount of tri flow oil
I rarely apply anything to TT gears, but I sometimes use white lithium grease if they're noisy.Harry

I use Ballistol on shafts or Teflon.Helicopter pilots get it up quicker.
When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.
Why simplify when it is so much simpler to complicate.
