Re: A bad day - Resurrection

most of the electronics are fine as the lipo fire was at the back. the mechanics are buggered so a replacement has been sourced ready for modification. the turbine is okay, just needs some new tubing. the body will be taking its final flight to the skip.

Good grief, I was thinking you had a turbine fire, I had no idea that was caused by a... a... LIPO!!!! I've seen them go up on youtube so I shouldn't be surprised at the ferocity of the damage - but I am, still.

Re: A bad day - Resurrection

it was caused by connecting the charger to one battery and the balance connector to a second lipo. so the charger got confused and the lipo ignited. luckily the fuel tank was empty. i think 1 litre of jet A1 would not have been helpful

Oooohhhhh. I see. Well, I hope that is a lesson to others to be more careful, not that you weren't but these flippin' accidents have a way of sneaking up on you when you least expect them. We've all done it at sometime to something and the worst thing is we're sure it was done right, sigh! Speedy recovery to your heli.
