I'm not quite at that point In terms of true spares, I tend to only keep spare TT gears, shafts etc. I several servo boxes full to the brim of various bolts etc which always have everything but the one I need

Same as Ben, I have blades and Canopy's, but even for the TDR parts are here is under a week. And if one Heli is down, I have other to chose from, so all is well.

Obviously with the Align Helis, you start having spares build up because of the way they package them.

Spares tend to cost twice as much as a new heli. So I bought a new heli and there's not much of it left. I got the complete heli, less blades for £79 and the head alone costs £60. Some bits like main gear wheel I buy in bulk and I get cheap blades when they're in stock.

not these days, seeing as you can get most spares the next day, doesn't seem much point and as someone said above, sods law you'll be missing the one part you need.

In my 700 Align days I kept many hundreds of pounds worth of spares, it's all good until you change heli brand then your stuck with them or almost give them away.

i keep blades only now, as someone mentioned they are the major cost in a crash and can be used on other brand Helis.

I keep a few spares for events such as a tip over or touching the tail and stripping the gears. This is only as I tend to fly up the club field every other week (when I go up to see the kids) and it's 170 miles away so I can't take too many helis with me and want to maximise the time spent there flying

Buying spares is a Suckers game!
I am starting to think that buy a 2nd kit is the way to go,
It allows you to build up complete assemblies, frame, head, tails etc ready to go.
If you price up a kit built from spares it gets close to double the kit cost, does depend on the manufacturer.
The cheapest way might be to buy a 2nd kit and sell what you don't use!

                      Whats wrong with that, lol!
I suppose it depends on how often & how bad you crash.
If you are stocking up on spares though its worth considering.

I just have a spare set of blades, main gear and front and rear TT gears, the latter I might get on stock as I keep stripping them for fun or can someone recommend a helimat/thingy majiggy as the grass is long and full of cow shite.(and so is my tail fin lol),so I can land on something firm.

I fly two of the same so I can fly one while the other is being fixed and to answer the question I do have a lot of spares from servos to screws to crash kits. It's not so much having spares though; it's more being able to fly the next day if I want to.
Helicopter pilots get it up quicker.

When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.

Why simplify when it is so much simpler to complicate.
