Plane Crash on Channel 4 last night, documentary about some scientists who deliberately crash a Boeing 737 to study what happens. Apparently they flew they full size thing by RC?

It was on last night but i missed it and today everyone at work was raving about it, it's on again at 21:00 on 4Seven (Sky ch 140)

saw this, was a 727 & it was a T8FG, was thinking the same about why only 50m away but thought it may have something to do with all the other radio gear.

was brilliant to watch though and really made me think about how and where I sit on a plane now

makes me wonder where to sit on a plane, bugger ! i always sit in the same place and thats the bit that came off first !

I'd say it was a pretty good advert for futaba! apparently they did try another brand of radio first, but that would only work when the guy was on board the doomed jet

What amazed me was the jets engines were still running after the crash, you would think the fuel would be shut off on impact ???

to be honest it did not really prove that much, yes a good watch. but nothing new for the aviation world.

they just'ed shut the thrust levers and increased the rod and banged it in ! interesting to note that the cargo hold was empty and if it had be full with uld's or the like then the floor would of deformed and the plane would have been in more parts.

still good fun tho , shit pilot, cant even make the rwy with 3 engines !
