Thanks for helping my daughter on the beginners session on the Phoenix last night. I have to go to bed at 8 as I'm up for work at 3 in the morning.
She woke me up (by mistake) when she finished and said she felt a lot more confident hovering.
It was her idea to get into heli's. I had a little go in the late 90's but didn't get past the hover myself. Emma saw a 3 ch coaxial on one of the shopping channels and wanted one. I did a search for a forum and found one called RCGroups and was recommended a 4ch micro called a WL Toys V911 for £27 with tx which was great for messing about in the lounge. The forum was in the US so I looked again for a UK site and found this one and have found the people on here to be very helpful.
I asked if anyone knew if the lad that helped me get going last time was still about and he was (Richard Budd) so I contacted him and we met at the local club and had a chat. He advised me on a heli and tx (Blade 450, Spektrum DX7) and I found these items at the right price.
The next problem was that Emma had just got her first job and it is working weekends so she can't get down to the club when there are people there, I have had a little go with her at home but as I'm a beginner myself I don't think the situation is ideal. Then I saw the the Phoenix beginner session on here and told Emma about it.
Once again thanks for putting your time into helping her and she has this weekend off work, so weather permitting she will be down at the club putting what she's learnt into practice.
Kind regards,
Gary.
