  • MKS Servo Support

Just wonder if anyone has had any experience with MKS servo support?

I bought some servos's back in March and just got round to using them but one seems to be faulty, I've tried to contact the distributer direct but got no reply

I had no reply from emails and rang them direct three times.
Third attempt I got through to someone who could sort of help me.

He'll tell you to return the servo back to the retailer that you got it from and they will deal with it.

For me I had a bit of a dodgy servo plug on a brand new BLH980HV tail servo and all I wanted was the plug itself. Not wanting to return the whole thing I contacted MKS directly in Taiwan.

They were great and have just sent me out four new servo leads and plugs ( 2 red for the tail servo and two black) free of charge. All I paid for was the EMS shipping from Taiwan.

They will do as spares and they are factory parts.

I actually bought them direct from the UK distributer(J&M Europe Limited) via this forum. Maybe I'll have to go direct to Taiwan to get a response.

Shame really as I've got MKS servo's in a couple of models and like them, this has really put me off buying any more.

I also bought servo's directly from J&M and another two from one of there UK dealers. They were not really helpfull as all I wanted was replacement parts which they could not supply to me.

If they can't help you I pretty sure Taiwan will - deal with them directly.

That's a useful email. I had a DS450 that damaged a motor. I got a replacement from the retailer Wings Wheels and Rotors but they don't do mks anymore. Odd fault though, the servo would hold ok and initially it would move ok then in the middle of a flight I had control problems. Landed and checked the servos, all moved ok, so I decided it was me, but it wasn't. Ended up holding but not moving unless pushed.

Very good to know that back up in this country is not that good, as I was going to purchase a ds760 for a tail servo but now I might look at alternatives which is a shame as they are supposed to be damn good servos.

I suppose really that they would exchange any faulty kit with out any problem but that's if you can get hold of them by phone or get a reply via email.

              The servo's themselves are superb.

What's more annoying for me is both PM's I've send for support from the seller have been ignored. Funny he was quick enough to reply when I PM'd to buy the servos.

Fast-Lad are now stocking quite a lot of MKS servos (including some of the more unusual ones).

So I'd expect UK availability to be pretty OK.

MKS do come across as quality. Even the cheaper ones seem pretty good.

The DS450s were good value from Wings Wheels and Rotors at £15. They sent me a new one with no problems. Back up from retailers seems good to me. There is an issue with most digital servos that they have very high current drive in a stall condition and will destroy themselves unless they have an individual regulator fitted as on the MKS website. Henge servos seem to have a lower current when stalled. I've emailed MKS but not even had an automatic acknowledgement.

The DS450 is well put together with no loose leads that will suffer from a fatigue failure due to vibration.
