Reposted because I had no idea I'd managed to put it in the members only section, d'oh!

Matt, thanks for spending time with me in Phoenix last night and spotting where I was going wrong in banked turns. Once you explained it with respect to what you saw me doing I understood. Although not yet perfect they can only get better.

    Thank you

My pleasure. That's what communities like this are all about - whether on the flying side of things, or on the tech/setup side. I've had so much help from people on here, and learned so much from scratch on the setup side that I thought it should happen on the flying side too. The online area in sims is such an untapped resource in that respect. . . Let's tap it!

I also benefitted from the session, as Delarado helped me with my flying too whilst I was waiting for you to turn up!

      Thanks, Matt.

I think it helps when a session like that is scheduled between teacher and student. I have popped into an addicts session before and they are not planned as a lesson so it's like flying with distractions.

Much better when two people go in with a purpose in mind

Thanks again I'm going to be practising that now.

Maybe this should be a regular thing?...

        Most people will be able to help out others to some extent;

I wouldnt be able to teach 3D (I cant do it yet)

But hover/basic circuits would be straight forward for me to teach.....

SO many of us have pheonix, and with the weather turning, and the evenings dark, it may be a good community thing to get going...

Couldn't agree more with the above posts as I am just at the hovering stage and need all the help I can get and my lads will most definitely agree, although being Dad I would never admit it.

So I have a few ideas for another session. . . They go like this. . .

            1) Whoever wants to get involved meets in such an online session. We take turns - take off, fly a manoeuvre, land.
The next person 'in line' then attempts the same move, with critical eyes on them, taking advice when appropriate.
They then add their own move to the sequence.
Next person does the same, adding their move afterwards and so on.
It's a bit like the 'my granny went to the shops and bought a. . .' game but with helis

            2) Again, the group meets online and waits in the pits.
First person takes off and attempts their choice of move. Whatever they want. I would suggest they maybe get a three minute session to play in.
Everyone else watches, with their 'friendly but critical' heads on.
Ppl can give advice - 'less rudder' 'more pitch' etc
After the 3 min flight is up, that person lands, joins the critical group and swaps their flying head for critical head.
Next person attempts their choice of manoeuvre.
            And so on . .

            3) 'Endurance' game
Everyone flies at once, attempting a nominated and accepted manoeuvre - be it nose-in hover, piro hovers, tictocs whatever.
If you crash, you sit out and observe.
Winner gets to sit out of the next round and watch and advise the first out from the last round, giving advice when and where necessary.

These ideas may be convoluted and overly detailed, so I apologise in advance, but I'm feeling a bit enthused and ever so slightly obsessed with the world of heli flying recently, so am jumping in head first while the energy is there.

The great thing with this is that if you think I'm daft for suggesting such things, you can move on and leave me (and the other excitable beginners like me) to it. If you like the idea, let's get together and do it! What's the worst that can happen? (Me looking like a fool I guess, which I'm not really worried about)

I wish I wasn't performing tonight - I'd be right up for suggesting this for tonight's session, but there's always tomorrow!

Make it a lesson. Announce that you're going to teach such and such tonight and see who is interested. If you get a regular list then next session asks themmto show they practised and if ok you move to next lesson.
