Yeah, I used to have one, which I think set me back about £100 second hand (the filter was in the airline to the mask), I just cant find it, im guessing it has been lost through moves.

How about making your own extractor?? Get your hoover, sorry..... Vacume & a large box, poke the hose (assuming you have a henry or similar) just slightly through the box & tape it up, place canopy on something in the box, turn on vacume & spray. Could it really be that simple or am i crazy

disposable organic vapour filter masks are available and suitable for 2k paints. they last for around 30 hours use. my last one cost me £15 but this was a few years ago now. i have sprayed plenty of motorbikes, panels, and one complete track day car with one. available at all good paint factors.

this was about four or five years back now, but they were definately sold to me as 2k safe and looked similar to your link. i also used powerful extraction as well.

              its up to you
but the old boy that sprays the coaches were i work just uses a normal cheapo dust mask
and the fumes blow into the mechanical workshop

and on the air fed mask (that the old chap won't use) the filters in the comp should be replaced every 3 months or it isn't good for you

yes you've guessed correctly the ones at work have never been replace so thats may be why the old chap gets very high on the odd time he digs out the air fed mask

As long as the fumes don't directly go over the extraction motor, you'd be ok. Proper extraction units use explosion proof motors, or, wait for it............a bi-furcated motor. This is a motor which is outside of, or protected from the airstream so there's no chance of an explosion. Once again, mucho dosh :-(
Personally for such a small amount of work I'd use something like a gerson 2k mask, but they do have a limited shelf life, and have to be kept bagged up when not in use to protect the filters within them.

Well I went for it today.... painted outside, with a very slight wind.

Did the downwind side first, with breath held through my 3M mask, then moved upwind, another deep breath, and the other side done.

3 Coats like this and all done.... baked it in my home made oven (cardboard box and hairdryer). Its not in the airing cupboard overnight to properly harden
