  • Club in School :D

    I have finally done it

Some of you may remember a while ago about a thread i started about being bullied about the hobby. That thread quickly turnt into a conversation about how i can bring the hobby to those interested in my school.

Well a few months, and a lot of emails later, im pleased to report the school has agreed to let run a small club for those interested in the hobby, and also to teach kids a little bit about the science that goes into it

The school has also asked me to fly a few demo flights in the school fields to introduce the hobby to a few staff members

I am very excited as I have been wanting to introduce this hobby to the school for ages but not really had the time or the equipment to do it, hopefully this will be the start of something great

    Thanks
    John

I think that this would be an ideal oppertunity for a manufacturer / supplier / LHS etc to become involved. John needs all the support and the spin off's in bringing new people into the hobby would be great for a company......

I wish they'd introduced that when I was at school.

I told you could do it

the amount of people that make fun of the hobby and then suddenly wanna become your friend just so they can get a chance too fly is amazing.

so far i've showed other students and staff the awesomeness of an mcpx inverted and they've even had the chance to build there own planes out of foam.

just wondering, are you getting any funding to run the club?

nothing beats half the school stopping their lessons just to see you fly.

Well done on getting something going with the school, I wish I had done that when I was at school but I didn't really get into heli's until my last year and too much work with A levels. Have a friend who flies heli's at that school as well. I'm now at uni so might get something started in the future if possible but would think students on an already limited budget might have trouble. Maybe I can talk the mechanical engineering department into starting a project or something.

                            Good luck with the club
