Painting text (my name) on canopy

Well, this:

Was my attempt at freehanding it. I used an old school technical drawing pen that uses indian ink, and it seem to be OK. Plus it has the added benefit that there is now a bit of my grandad on the heli.

He made me (from plans) my first boat. He built my first glider (has never flown properly in several incarnations, but I always fix it back up and crash it again), and basically fed my imagination for 20 years of my life. He isnt here anymore, but his technical drawing set is, and countless other things he 'lent' to me.

It sounds a bit soppy, but I think im going to use this pen on any canopies I paint from now on... So I thank you all for your kind offers, but Im going to stick with this perfectly imperfect solution.

Reminds me of my dad. I still use his slide-rule. Occasionally.

If you're not fussed about it being airbrushed on my housemate has a plotter machine and will knock up your name on a couple of stickers and I'll post them over to you Just push it on and peel the backing off, leaves the lettering behing.

Ooh I'm definitely interested in some of these for my brand new 550e!

I've used these off eBay, they are better lacquered over but work well
