    This is where I left off with it;

    millicanopypaint1.JPG

    The paint is called 'Volkswagon brilliant orange' from Halfords. The flash in this pic makes it look more orange than it is in natural light and this colour is not at all what I wanted so hopefully I can use the same type of paint in a different colour and just paint over it without having to do anything to it :-o All I want is a nice solid colour that's good for visibility and then a different colour for the windscreen and if all that comes out OK I'll add a few stickers.

      Mista_b69, if you ever fancy running a workshop on painting a canopy, please send me a pm. Would love to spend a day actually learning what you need to know to make a canopy look like that !!!

      Was tempted to send my Goblin to Buckers for a one off paint scheme............but I think that goes beyond extravagant !!!
      Cheers,
      Simon

                  What do you use for the detail stuff?

                  Im sure those hobby airbrushes go through the disposable cans like anybodys business! I have an air compressor and water separator (race cars so always painting stuff)

                  Never had to do any of the finer painting though. Can you get small airbrushes to attach to a standard compressor? I Have a regulator, although Id expect they dont need a lot of pressure?

                      Yes, no problem, you just need an adaptor to fit the airline, its what I do... I still have a bit of the original propellant that came with the airbrush, as pretty quick I worked out to swap over to my compressor.

                        If you clearcoat with it outside, is that too much of an issue?

                        I have a 3M respirator, but I know that it wont do for iso-cyanates from my car painting days, but I dont have an air fed mask.....

                            I paint in a garage but leave the garage door open, put a huge fan blowing out of the garage and do it quick!

                            Not ideal I know, but I think you can get away with it for small items if your careful
