That means you would have to have access to RC Heliaddicts database, which I can't see Stuart giving up as these is a mass of personal details along with the backbone for all the forums. As an Admin for many forums in the past it's something I certainly wouldn't do myself.

Good idea, but I'd say a very low chance of happening.

And great work on the site Mark, great idea overall, only problems are with the mass emails and the login which I know you are working on to fix .

what stops bots spamming sellers with messages? maybe you need one of those type what you see in the image things before you can send a message?

Good point - I'll deal with that over the weekend - possibly add a Captcha for non logged in users or maybe ask the viewer to log in first...

Sorted the possibility of Bots Spamming the ads. It's a quick fix for now whilst I get Captcha sorted out.

As best we can, the site validates against the social sites and confirms email addresses etc. Contact to the vendor is by email and they must respond before any further action can be taken. So I guess its a lot better than buying off the bay or a guy in the pub. BUT it can never be perfect so always be careful.

Looking good Mark. Logged in straight away with my Facebook account. However, perhaps there may be a need for some other way of registering/logging in?
I know in this day and age everyone expects everyone else to have the latest Mobile phones and Apps and be on ALL the intereactive sites like FB, Twitter etc. But not all are.

Understood, I don't use facebook but I have a google account and so use that. BUT you're quite right, there's no need to exclude anyone so I've added a standard registration as well.

The best security is using the social icons which uses a secure authentication with the social sites and no passwords ever get transmitted.

I'm still debating the removal of the standard login due to the cost of a certificate for SSL. But for the time being its there for those that want it.


Just added Captcha to ad messaging for people who are not logged in, that should counter the possibility of Bots spamming advertisers.


So I'm about to invite the Plankers, boaters and car boys aboard. Any more suggestions before the emails go out ?
