Well I think it's ready to go so I'll let the sensible section of RC (heli pilots) go first !!! Planes/Cars/Boats later !
The Official Launch is Monday, its only just gone through Beta test so if anything odd happens, I apologies in advance and I'm sure you'll let me know about it LOL
The website http://www.model-pegboard.co.uk is the first independant classified ads site exclusively for RC models and equipment (as far as I'm aware) and its hosted on the same server as RC Heliaddict (many thanks Stuart)
The site will be free and users will have complete control over any ads they place. The ads last until you remove them or expire on a date you set.
Yes, Advertising will be totally free and you can have as many Ads as you want for as long as you want AND each ad can contain up to 10 pictures !!!
The site is not intended to replace the fast moving 'for sale' section on RHCA or similar forums. It is anticipated that more use will be found for all those old bits you never got around to selling or rare parts than can be advertised for sale over a longer period of time. Of course you can advertise anything as long as it's RC related.
Google is already indexing the site and social integration modules should give you the best possible exposure for any items you want to sell - There's a wanted option as well !!!
Now I've always been put off by the registration process on many sites. Ie fill in your details, get an email, follw a link and then finally you can log in. Well not on my site!!! Anyone with Facebook,Google,Twitter etc can validate themselves by clicking one of the social Icons on the top left.
Here's how it works. You click the facebook icon for example and thats it - you are logged in !! Yes a ONE CLICK REGISTRATION process. NB if you logged out of facebook you'll be asked to log back in.
Facebook (or any of the others) validates you then tells my site who you are and saves you the trouble of keying it all in. It also means instant access and NO Spam - Yipeee. Best of all its approved by the social sites taking part and its secure.
Ok so right now there's some test ads showing (thanks Beta Testers), I'll leave them there for a day or so just so you get an idea how it works - I'll delete all tests Sunday Evening before the full launch.
Please feel free to post away - If you just want to test please make it clear in the Ad that it is a test otherwise you'll get someone wanting to buy it.
