+1!! But if only it had a slight bit more power, but it's still pretty damn good... Although I am still getting to grips with the very fine tuning part of the nitro engines.

I still feel more comfortable flying electrics and with the power it is easier to do the more constantly loaded manoeuvres but both have their minuses and pluses.

Ron I had my first nitro flight with my newly build 600n V2 yesterday ............( Thanks Paul for all your help ) and I just loved it!!! Spend an evening making sure the Brain is been set up properly and it paid off. I can confirm the Brain is great out of the box. Just need to set up the governor and it's good to go.

And yes I spend another evening cleaning my new heli......but that want last long!!

i have certainly gone and done it now, just picked it up this evening.... my first nitro.... trex 600le with kde fbl head..... its in the front room on a tray and i am cleaning and polishing it now.

geek very kindly let me try his in taunton on saturday and i loved it.... thanks for your advise paul and panos and for letting me try before i buy. feels like i have done the right thing.

That would be the noise that blades make (known as a blade fart), although you nitro flyers never probally heard what that sounds like, just a load engine.lol.

flatulence is what i'd call it
my converted sceadu's motor howled like a good one and you couldn't hear the blade noise for it

Interestingly, as a Nitro fan boy, I found myself talking my friend who is new to flying down the electric route.

Although he is probably going to start with planks first (he hasnt done rc before), I couldnt make a good argument for him to go nitro, even though I can make a very straightforward case for myself.

I guess if you are starting out right at the beginning, leccy is probably the way to go.....

But is it Jimmy? look at the whole reason for this thread(Harvey was all electric).Practicality says electric maybe the best way to go,but petrol heads will always be drawn to dirty hands As for cleaning your heli down afterwards etc here is a picture from Moonmans face book. I may have to wipe over my heli and drain the tank, to fly again top up the rx battery and refuel but to fly his again look what James has to do

Nitro is easier to clean, just wipe it and all the bugs, mozzie blood and grass comes right off! With electric you have to spend more time lol...

2x RX packs and fuel and you can fly all day easy with charging one RX pack every 8 flights (of 9-10minutes!) !

I once tried hovering the kyosho concept 30 with the mechanical gyro turned off, it's not something i want to repeat, can you imagine with the speed of today's servos?

Besides i don't have a fbl machine to use, but if you want me to go first on yours then we are good to go :-p

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I didnt really make clear in my post that we are all slightly mental, and my friend is still mostly sane....

Im guessing if he decided to get into this (rc) then he will probably opt for a cheap foam plank trainer, something that wasnt around when I started. Glow/Nitro was the only way to go back then, unless you count the barely flyable NiCd electric stuff... However for someone trying things out its going to be gently softly.

Mental people like us just go all out, so the concept of better or normal is skewed!
