  • 130x or flybarless mini tit?

    hi ladies and gents.
looking for another heli to crash test, and i was wondering if any of you had any insight into the latest offering from TT? i've only been told that they're due imminently.
For a general hack heli that's easy and cheap to repair, which would you choose?
    cheers,
    gram.

Isn't this another impossible question to answer? a heli that has established a rather large following or one that nobody has seen and can only speculate on?

Are the results really going to sway your decision?

Cool, never seen one tho. Looks sweet in the pics with all that bling, but also looks more expensive to repair? All I can say is the 130x is the cheapest crash test dummy about at the mo, but if you fly like a pro, you may well prefer better quality?

tbh i wouldnt say you could even compare a 130x to a mini titan, the 130x is a micro heli with a cheapish build, all plastic parts, weighs next to nothing and is peanuts to run, oh and will stand a decent crash over grass with no damage.
The mini titan is a fairly expensive carbon/metal built heli, 450 size so alot bigger, alot more pricey to run and crash.

you could compare the 130x to a mcpx maybe or a trex 450 to a mini titan, for what its worth I would go for a trex 450 of some sort, just a little cheaper on spares and there is more knowledge on these forums about them comapared to mini titans.

Now i'm confused! the op states "latest offering due imminently" the original mini titan has been out for years and is indeed a 450 class heli!so no comparison anyway Is there a mini-mini titan due?

Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Get the 130x it has such a large following and aftermarket parts are becoming more available and plentiful, it flies great too and crashes well. Agree with buying trex 450overmini Titan too.

I have a FB Mini Titan and love it to bits. I looked for years for a bird to take the place that my Eolo fills. The nearest I got back then was the Twister Storm 3D but it was nowhere near as rock steady. Then along came the Mini Titan. Now if I were to go FBL I would put the MT on my shopping list but it is down to the space you have for flying.

Personally I will be after the nano Blade next and would go that way - smaller - than the 130.
Helicopter pilots get it up quicker.

When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.

Why simplify when it is so much simpler to complicate.

i started out with the mini titan, considered making it flybarless, but then got tempted by a trex 500. don't get me wrong, the 500 was a good heli but the build quality of align stuff isn't all that good, i don't want another anyway. the thing that really draws me towards the mt is it's less complicated to rebuild than the older flybarred model, and it's not going to break the bank if i do trash it, my local shop will be selling them on for around the £250 mark initially, so i might just buy 2 and use 1 for spares.
However, the 130x looks like a lot of fun for next to no money, but after having a V1 mcpx which i didn't get on with, i really don't want to buy another bag'o'shite blade.

130x recent crash...not even that hard...all the gears ok except for 1 tooth out the main gear well actually half a tooth..but
both frames broken around the boom mounts and 1 skid lug off
landing skids snapped on 1 leg
                              blade grip ball broken off
                              swashplate completely ripped apart
                              boom snaped in 3 places
                              canopy side smashed
                              tail slider bearing holder smashed...

                              everything else checks ok...

may have as well driven over it with my car! 10 foot off the deck with throttle hold on...thats it!....missed the grass on a clay football field....crashed it 20 times in long grass not one breakage..so unless you dont want crash bills make sure you have fluffy white pillows in your crash zone!
