  • A manual nitro fuel pump which doesn't leak or leak soon after?

    Hi guys,

I've had it after my fuel pump today pretty much spat out half a gallon (ok maybe a little exaggeration but a lot more than a few drops) trying to fill up my heli I seem to be using more up fuel filling than actually flying with!

Any suggestions for a manual fuel pump which doesn't leak within a year or so.. Or any mods to get them to work?

I've done some searching around and seems a few others have had the same trouble but not really any recommendations for a good one.

    Cheers,

    Laurence

Them new fangled batteries do a good job! No messy fuel you just have to worry about the occasional fire! Sell that G4 to me. I'll look after it....(by that I mean convert it to electric and bin that silly motor )

The one I'm using now is a Prolux Fast Fueler and it has been working perfectly for at least two years. I don't remember exactly when I got it but I know it has been at least that long and it's still going strong.

Have you actually used them then??? I was going to order something from them once & it wanted certain info which stank of forgery to me. They wanted info that you shouldn't give out so i stayed well clear.

I've been using one of the MK Hyper Mini Hand Pumps for more than 12 years without a leak, cost me £19 back then and even more now (£26)but its been perfect.

I use either of these Laurence, usually get a season out of them. You can get pumps which are Nitro/Petrol, these will last longer due to the internals being more resiliant for use with petrol so glow fuel has less effect on them.

I find they last longer if you just use them to fill and don't drain the tank, as you draining the fuel and also the harmful acids which are in the tank from the exhaust gases.
