    Dx7 battery advice needed.

    The stock battery is on its way out and i need to change it I heard mixed comments on using a lipo and just had a look on hobbyking they have a few
    in the UK.
    What should i go for stock or life? lipo? what the good and bad points?

      I would not recommend LiPo in the DX7 as there have been a number of failures from doing so (much higher voltage).

      Running a LiFe pack extended my running time to something silly long, I used a Hyperion 2100mAh LiFe TX pack which can also be charged with the standard wall charger and does not self discharge anywhere near as fast as NiMh.

      That being said the other choice I was looking at was the Eneloop TX packs, Eneloop batteries perform pretty amazing.

        For my DX8, I made a battery holder that used standard and rechargeable batteries. It was quite easy to make with a few bits from Maplin and a soldering iron. Pretty sure you could do the same for a DX7.

          I take it the true voltage for the dx7 is 9v.

            Hi Chris,
            i replaced the battery in my DX7 to a Sanyo Eneloop 2000 9.6v NIMH (Sussex Model Centre) and now in my DX8 a 2000 4.8v NIMH Sanyo Eneloop (robotbirds). i found these are excellent batteries, its worth a look before going to the Lipo's.
            Info..Sanyo Eneloop batteries are the best all round solution to a powerful long lasting non self discharging.

              New battery turned up today just need to know if I take the old one out will I loose my setting ?

                  On both my Tx's ... 1st the DX7 & then the DX8 no settings lost changing the battery.
