  • Jumpy tail !?

On my trex 500 ( scaled to AS350 heli) I am using a gy401 gyro, but every so often during flight (mainly in the hover) the tail of the heli flicks one way, and it keeps doing it, just a constant flick of the tail every two seconds or so.

I have upped the gain on the tx to around 89.0, which tbh, seems quite a lot.

I know that the scale fuselages can be a pain and can upset the tail sometimes, but the tail holds fine, it moves correctly and smoothly, its just I get the flick of it during the hover sometimes, if I get into FF, it goes away.

    Any ideas ??

    Thankyou

I had the same sort of thing happen to my 500 with 3gx on it. It eventually after doing it several times went into non stop piros until it hit the ground. I think the most likely cause was a dodgy tail servo. One of the wires had a little cut but only on the plastic cover and I had repaired with heat shrink. It was either that or the 3gx so I replaced both and fixed the problem.
