  • Any plumbers from Milton Keynes way??

    Hi guys,

Ok i am looking for a plumbing that is willing to let me work with them on a saturday, I will work for free but in return i would like them to teach me.

I have signed up to a part time plumbing course at collage ( i have had to pay for this myself so i am giving it 150%)

Here is a little bit about me.

My name is James Jordan i am 26 years old, i currently work as a warehouse supervisor for a kitchen company, I am changing my hours to night shifts so i can go to collage to learn plumbing, my reason for this is i just dont want to spend the rest of my life picking boxes and breaking my back for a S&%t wage and i want to better myself. I am not scared of hard work and if i want something i do my best to get it.

I am heliaddict and have been flying for 2years (nitro fan) :-) started out with Planks but then i see the light and relised that helis are the only thing RC anyone should be flying LOL, Also i am a Spurs fan but we wont talk much about that as i think we are going to have a shocking season! I love abit of banta so if you going to give it out you better be ready to get plenty back.

I would really apperciate it if anyone is willing to help me out!

    Cheers
    J

Hi James. You should try n get a saturday job helping out at a plumbers merchants.
Are you going to do gas ticket?
I am a gas engineer and I personally think it would take you years to learn plumbing part time. Knowing your fittings would be a massive shortcut as it's the thing that holds me back hence the reason for working at a merchants idea.
You would also meet nearly every plumber in your area.
It's a tough game with a lot of competition if you intend working alone.
There are simply too many labourers that will run up n down stairs all day long with everything.
All the best anyway. At nearly twenty yeArs my junior you should be a lit fitter lol.
1x EGS, TREX 450 PRO DFC & 130X. DX9 radio. No idea what i am doing trying to fly

Can't help you I'm afraid James, especially not with your choice of footie team (Arsenal fan!). But i thnk with your positive attitude to work and determination to learn something new, you will be successful.

I am sure that there must be either a plumbers merchant or a plumber who would jump at the chance to have someone around to help with the only payment that you receive some on the job training.

I wish you the very best of luck, just possibly not for the season though ;P

good luck james , you will need it. them days of city bankers giving up their jobs to be plumbers are long gone. its much harder now with the Pols and cheap labour due to the climate. but stick too it and you may get rewarded in 5-7 years... ex sparky
