  • Limpy, Junior VIDEO.

Put the vid to HD and it should look better. Sorry for the going to a dot and backedness of the video.

Basically it's to show my flips and inverted flying with Limpy and how durable Limpy is with crashes (there's quite a few).

Junior: Had no control coming out of inverted and I did find a broken link so I wonder if it broke before or after the crash (no damage to that servo's gears). It responded to TH ok though.

For good or bad here it is:

I did say I wan't going to use bonce-cam again but I thought it a good idea to let prospective buyers see a 130X in the hands of a learner and to see that it is a durable helicopter capable of flips and inverteds even in the hands of someone doing their first flips.

You can see that when I first start to go inverted there is a tendency for Limpy to drop. By battery three I learnt I needed to be more generous on the negative pitch. If you are over generous the heli will go up. If you are under generous the heli stands a good chance of hitting the deck. The idea, somewhat obviously, is to put the same amount of negative in that you had when flying upright. This is just another skill to master. Because you can't see your controls you need to learn it by muscle memory really. Your thumb needs to learn the distance needed. Another 'comes with time and practice' thing.

Bear in mind that wind speed here was 8-10mph with gusts and Limpy was excellent.

Good luck everyone with your flipping

Nice video there Vikki, its great to see that 130 being flown and crashed by someone who is not an expert, no offence . I wanted to see how well they bounce as i was thinking about selling my mcpx and upgrading to the 130x for practising at home. and they seem to bounce quite well.

          Hi Vikki

Enjoyed the Vid, watched it with Vikki, she drew deep breaths of anguish when he went inverted and screamed each time he hit the deck (assured her he was OK).

Particularly liked the artistic effect of long flowing wind blown golden lock casually drifting across the scene - very arty

Have you told her that she could be doing that sometime?

Tell her Limpy is fine and happy and loves doing his little stunts.

As well if not better than the mcpx (as long as you are over longish grass and hit TH)

I'm happy the video is helping. I really wouldn't normally record something that goes to a dot so quick but I think the video says a lot about how well it tolerates wind and how well it bounces back from a crash.

You might not see it on the youtube video but in two crashes Limpy bounced several feet after hitting the grass. At one point on there you can see he rolled and bounced some distance. Still he got up and flew.

Been looking at the lesson 4 video on flips, loops and rolls. Shall be on Phoenix trying that out.

Well done Vikki and it will get smoother the more you practice I was over the field 7am with the 130 and the 500.
Don't crash as much as you but when I do it goes in hard and managed to brake another blade grip not bad after all the flights and crashes total repairs so far = two blade grips.......

I crash more often because I'm still wet behind the ears with flips and inverted. It'll get better

Broke the blade grip on the 130x this morning by flipping the wrong way from inverted a metre off the ground in FF thought I must have killed it this time by how hard it went in but only the ball on the grip broke off.
Good job I fly fly my bigger Helis more sensible, my 500 is the same as yours with DFC head and AR7200BX was playing with the parameter settings this morning and got it TX mode instead of the presets now, how have you got yours setup?
By the way your not the only one who forgets IU done it this morning lol thought the battery was dead.
                        Cheers Dave M.

Mine doesn't have the dfc head.

I've always kept mine on Tx but the AR7200BX came from my Blade 450X (RIP) and their default is Tx mode.

Yeah, thought it was my battery, too, till I looked at the switch. Oh dear
