Flown them both a lot and on the same models and V Bar wins hands down, B X is great for beginners and those starting out with FBL but most move on too something else, with the new silver line sensors it has made it a lot better for nitro too.....

Beastx vs vbar

Can't agree it's just for beginners John. Duncan used one for a lot of last year with admittedly a CSM 720 on the tail. Andy Kirby a V bar guru reckons the cyclics are as good if not better, again the back end lets it down. So it's not for beginners, it gives people a cheaper way into FBL than V bar I'll agree with that.

Exactly the same here Ross.Originally posted by gashead View PostI've owned both, flown both and know how to set both up, IMO the vbar wins hands down, but the beastx was good for the money.
Had both and can't fault the cyclics on the BeastX
Sadly the tail in every version I had wasnt near the V-Bar.
My money goes to V-Bar, it just works and very well.

Hi Dave. Cannot understand why Dunk dont use a V Bar instead of multiple giros on his helis, there are far better offerings out there than BX now fitted with better sensors and sats compatible guvnors etc, I have not seen many try V bar and go back too the BX..Originally posted by waveydavey View PostCan't agree it's just for beginners John. I like the extra features of the vbar and these alone are worth the extra money imo. The vibe tool and the downloadable logs are invaluable tools. The vibe tool obviously helps you track down vibes should you have this issue and the logs can give an idea of what happened in a crash.
The fact its all electronic as well without pots to twist etc is also what bumps the cost up.
For me the Vbar is more solid from what I can remember in fff. I think this was one of the main differences Ronnie noticed immediately too. I like the idea its on a slider system and you need the laptop so you can see exactly what you doing and changing and also where your changing it too. I rarely use the control panel now as I do prefer having the laptop with me.
Now things have settled and the Silverline has come out prices are more reasonable for second hand units.
£75 beast in the for sale section which is about perfect and Vbars for about £175 with pro is also a great deal.
+ 7 x Eddies finest EGS's

Strange you should say that John, but on his new DFC he is running a V bar. I think with duncan he's that good he can feel what the units are doing for him, he needs piro consistency and that has never been good with the beast but the cyclics were good. He flew with the 3G and again 720 and liked that, but even he is now a V bar convertOriginally posted by jwatts007 View PostHi Dave.
