  • x400, maidon flight take 2!

    hii all

weather was perfect to have a little (set-up) hover in the garden this afternoon so i checked everything over on the x400 and spun it up!

i carnt say it was a long flight tho, it is still in tact (unlike maidon flight number 1 ) but it needs alot of tweaking as it really didnt handle very nicely!

i will try get it going better on thursday and maybe give you a video.

    ANYWAY!

the real point of posting is to say a HUGE thank you to all that have helped me get this thing in the air!

an extra big thanks to, BOGGIE, WOODY!, and those on the chat room that have been sending me servo horns and odd bits! (leebert, xygax etc) also giving me advice/help. EDIT! and thanks to moyesboy!

because of this i am in the air again! (finally! )

(before u ask about how the insurance is going lol..... im still waiting )

    cheers,
    Tom

Hi Tom glad you are flying again sorry i had nothing to give you. I used to have and X 400 and when set up properly that can fly very well indeed.

If its hard to hover it still with that metal head on it and the original ARK paddles, then you haven't got the ccpm setup right, or your head speed is too low.
I always found my x400 rock steady in the hover with 2400 or more head speed.

Trying to get it fast enough on the cyclics for 3D is another story!

i dont think i got ccpm, atm i still have the original frame on and i have just used ur alloy bits from the swash and up (excluding the swash).

anyone got anything they think i should check to get it flying straight?

the swash is level and i have just (with ades and ash davis help) set up the esc properly.

          cheers,
          Tom

I think there was a lot of slop in the non ccpm x400, look up the "tin can mod" in the www.x400tuning.co.uk site that is still up i think, or search for it in the trextuning forum.
I never flew the heli without ccpm.
