Fuel pump/bottle solution?

Hello,

What do people use for attaching an electric fuel pump to the fuel bottle, I've tried attaching by velcro, cable ties even epoxy but none are satisfactory.

There must be some invention for doing this?

tried all that in the end i used a large velco strap around the bottle and pump which used to fall out some times then i used to wedge it in the handle which made it difficult
to carry the fuel when it was full up .then i brought a slimline 2000 pump which screws on the threads sorted

the best solution is cut the top 1/4 off an old fuel bottle, drill 2 holes in it and tiewrap on your fuel pump. slide it over your current fuel bottle and job done. same goes for your lipo/switch if your going that way.

Why not just go back to a manual pump?...

Ive got fed up with the faff of an electric pump, its no quicker, its no easier and it runs at one speed only....

I much prefer the control of my manual pump, spill less fuel into the exhaust, and dont have to worry about the battery being charged.

I used to run a 'flightbox' with a lead acid battery for my starter, glowstart and fuel pump. Now I just have a hand held glow start stick, a 3S2200 lipo attached to my starter and a manual pump. Much lighter, much more straightforward.

I have a very neat solution that I designed myself.
It is basically an Align servo box with a trex 250 battery inside to power the pump, a standard plumbers 1 3/4 pipe mount to hold it onto the Opti cap and the pump screwed onto the box box with a couple of M3 bolts. It works a treat
if I get a chance later I'll pop a picture on for you to take a look at.

Hi dave I've seen some that Velcro a small pump and small lipo together and then cable tie them to a climbers hook and that just hooks then around the handle of the fuel bottle or I really love the slimline sl2000

nitro, where the real men play while you leccy guys lug about a 12kg genny, PSU, box of lipos....electric is easy....SURE it is :-)
