I think it is rare for people to sell them, you don't go in for a turbine on a whim. Or if you do you are going to get rudely awakened when it's time to service the motor. I heard 50 hours use, then a service which costs £350. Sure someone will correct that if its wrong. Add to that the likelyhood of damage in a crash, if one of the impeller fins is slightly bent or damaged then you run it up to 100000rpm or whatever they play at, its going to go pooof. Think you really need to be certain rather than just fancy one.Mikes Place - Home of the golden dump.

You need deep pockets, a lot of time to fettle, a lot of patience to set up properly, a lot of knowledge, and ideally someone with experience of them to help you out to start out. Having said all that, they are just awesome. Nothing sounds or smells as good!

The kit is £900, the Wren 44 is £2950 and the radio gear is standard heli stuff you'd find in any 90 size model.
Yes it's expensive, but the fuel costs are low, and the maintenance is as Jamie said, a new set of turbine bearings at 50 hours - cost is around £150.
There's no real maintenance other than the usual stuff with any big heli.
Set-up is dead easy, just follow the manual and it's easy, mine started and flew first time on the factory settings, with no fiddling or fettling needed..

Make sure you can get help from someone with a lot of experience if you head down this route, if all works well then you won't have to bother them, but if you have problems you'll be glad they are there.Last edited by Mark_T; 07-08-2012, 09:25 AM.

Sticky pump or gas valves? ECU settings?
