Charger draining lipo while off.

Hi All.
I have been using my Imax B606 charger as my recently purchased PL6 Blew up after 2 weeks and is off getting fixed.
I went through my normal process of putting my batteries on storage charge individually after flying. One still had a little bit of balancing to do and I had to go out so turned the charger off and unplugged it from the mains but left the Lipo plugged into the balance board.
When I came home I forgot about it for a couple of hours so it had been sitting plugged in but not turned on for maybe 4-6 hours. When I turned it on to finish the storage balance it came up with an error cell below voltage. One was reading 2.75v.
I unplugged and checked with the multi meter and sure enough one cell was 2.75v. I plugged back in and after a couple of goes the voltage came up high enough before the error kicked in so came right.

Can the charger suck the life out of one cell even when not turned on?

It still is not perfectly balanced but hopefully will get the PL6 back soon and it should sort it out.

Lipos are Gens Ace 2600 mah 6s and have been very good so far. About 40-50 cycles on them each

Whats the best balance board to get? Think mine is due for an upgrade. Or with the PL6 am I better to just get more piggy back leads and the little balance boards thet piggy back up. I have the 2 that came with it.
With the PL6 its not such an issue as can charge a lot faster but with the little B606 charger it seems to charge 5 in parallel a lot faster than if you did 5 separate as the final balance seems to take ages on the B606

Use the balancer in the PL6 its very accurate... you really wont need anything else...
