    G-Day Folks

for you guys interested in Gimbal control

Just did a little job for my uncle who is a wild life photographer and wanted remote control to his camera..so building him a gimble and will fit this system to it...he can also use the TX to learn to fly rc aircraft so a bonus..got the Tx from a RCHA member a few weeks ago and this is the result of half a days work...Im goin to do the same for my Gimble setups as the sticks on the second TX that controls the gimble auto centre so not so usefull as you have to hold the sticks in a certain postition if you dont have a gyro system...My innovation just needs you to turn the knobs and when you find your shot ..take it!...

    lovin it!

The Controller will be operating This Gimbal

    Yea Baby!

        Thanx

        yes it is

so all you do is fit a 360 degree servo on a baseplate under the zoom wheel and fit an o'ring and presto you have Zoom!

if you take a close look you will see a little groove that the o'ring can run in...most lenses have this groove its enough to keep the o'ring tracked doesnt have to all that tight as its rubber on rubber seen this done on crane camera gimbals in the movie/advertising industry where I worked as A Video Takoff operator..its a cam that fits into the eyepiece of a million dollar movie cam that uses stock film..so the vid is recorded and the producer can see if the shot is in the can before it gets sent for developing

        cheers

I'd really love to see the zoom feature and how you've done it. Also do you think focus pulling could be done in a similar fashion?

I can doo a zoom control via rc... if the camera accepts LANC as a control. Most professional cameras have tis as an available input. you then need two switches preferably spring loaded one for in one for out.... Simples...

Xygaz - How does that work? Most DSLR lenses don't have a motor to drive the zoom...

I always wondered about how you frame our shots with these setups? Is it just point in roughly the right direction and shoot, or do you have an FPV camera hooked up looking through the viewfinder or something?

                              G-Day Folks..
Xygaz ... if you want to motordrive a ZOOM lens on an SLR you need something like this...

Canon KH19x6.7 KAS SY14 19x HD Remote Motor Drive Zoom Lens w/ PMW-EX3 Adapter | eBay

DSLR Cams cant be that "Proffesssional" then boohooo I want my money back!!!!! all 5 grands of it for all 3 maybe they will just change out the lenses for those motordrive ones that are available for a small dna sample of my entire familys blood...oh well will have to just live with the HD Vids I get from my SLR still cam then.My 10 dollar servo and o'ring does excactly the same job no worries
..but still how do you wirelessly connect the LANC to the 2.4g system for remote operation ...
My uncle has a wireless system that plugs into the camera port that gives him wireless view and a fire and focus button to take the shot ..this thing here...
