  • Trouble with Gryphon Autobooster

SO my autobooster is missing the jumper so it's not regulating at 4.8v so I think it's burning out glow plugs. I turn it on, and instantly it screams with the red LED on. If I pull the JST plug out (the live and earth) it goes silent and works like it should via the Tx switch. I tried shorting the two pins for 4.8v just like the jumper would, but it still won't work correctly when connected to the earth and the glow plug. Anyone experienced this before? I've made sure everything is configured by the manual, and I've tried different plugs etc.

Does anyone have a spare jumper or know where I can get one?

    Cheers!

Do you know what kind of jumper they are?

If it's like the above, I've got quite a few you can have!

Yeah it is that type of jumper.
it will buzz and the red led will come on when it's powering a good plug, if the plug is dead it will not,

Check to see you have not go the red and black wire shorted out on the frames or something, to check remove the crock clip from the plug and it should be quiet, I found the silicon insulation to split very easily and shorting out on a carbon frame will make it beep.

Thanks guys. Can't see anywhere where it could be shorting, and I've had it set up outside of the frames too. Even so much as wiggling the wires (I originally thought it was bad connection to the plug) made no difference. Basically for some reason, as soon as the model is turned on, it is running all the time. Pull the red JST from the unit so it's not connected to the plug or earth, but is still getting signal/power from the Rx it works via the switch exactly how it should.

I guess I won't know for sure until gryphon get back to me with a replacement jumper.

Just to check you do have the red Plug cable to the top of the unit?

Might not make a difference but.....

Nope both next to each other, but I did notice that the factory had assembled the case incorrectly. So the end that has the 3 pin servo connection and the 2 pin JST, is next to the label that says AUX and voltage (can't remember off the top of my head precisely what they say). I definitely have them in the correctly socket and polarity. I have consulted the manual and my 90 a few times now to be sure. I'ev even changed lead between the unit and the Rx, but that's not where the problem lies, as it works correctly when the plug/earth lead is disconnected.
