  • This has to be some kind of hoax

Nowhere on the body is there any downward thrust ducts, so this must be a carefully rigged stunt.

its to do with the camera's shutter speed being the same as the rpm of the rotors i think.....

    its just an illusion!

    cheers,
    Tom

yup shutterspeed is same as blade speed, youll notice the tail blades still look like their turning as their a different speed to the head.

It does look very odd though.
      All the best

Yip its a bit like the picture here. The shutter speed makes the blades appear bent or kinda like a swirl.

its known as strobascopic effect. ( thats not spelt right ), the blades are turning at the same speed as the camera catches the stills for the video. Nice constant head speed. You can get it with flourescent lighting, cause the tubes flicker at 50hz, so if something is turning at 50 hz, it will apear stationary. which is why we have to use a different type of fitting than normal in machine shops etc, lead lag ( so when ones on, the other is off) and High Frequency stuff mainly. Imagine a drill or circular saw turning at 50 hz ( 50 revs per sec ) it'll look like its stopped, so you touch it, messy.
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

              And a DX8 too

Reading through the Youtube posts, it's amazing the stupidity of certain sections of the Human Race, and what's even "better" is it continues after a few people posted the correct explaination.

The camera work on the Szabo DVD is very off putting as all the way through his Raptor seems to have a head speed of 1 RPM

and most camcorders have a shutter speed option so its quite easy to cure, if they would only preview some footage before doing a full video. nobs
