    Just too much power with the new 65c packs...
    was about 30 meters off the deck and sounded like a plasma welder going off in the canopy..I just cranked the life outa it in idle 1 for 3 min in FFF then gave it to Stu and he clicked idle2 and BOOM BANG CRACKLE...
    ooh well just spoke to Scorpion and Im on the waiting list for the new 160 that will be released in a few weeks !.....YEEHAAAA!

    the damage!









    this esc has gven me 400 flights with the 40c packs without a hickup so not to bad a funeral for it to go out in flames like that!

        too much current draw and disk loading..and to answer Vikki and im definalty going to find out soon ..ooh dear and its stinky stuff hey!just spoke to scorpion and they recomend definalty openning the motor and giving it a good clean and visual inspection and let them know what i see...

          Ouch...

          Was great to see you yesterday, just amazing all your helis.

          Are you sure it wasn't just Stu's flying that blew it up? I wish I could fly like that, and he recons he's not flown for 6 months lol

            Washing up liquid cleaned my frame & canopy up nicely.

              Could you open it up and take a picture of the fets. I'd like to know what part number they are, if any survived.
              Flasher 450 Sport. Assan GA250 with 520 tail servo, MKS DS450 cyclic.

                    Holy smokes Batman...that sure is one well done speedie.

                    Now you've got me worried, the 120 comes down stone cold with the 3300 packs, I'm not sure how the 800 is gonna handle the 5000's. Time to have a serious talk to Chaos and source a CC logic board.

                      you cant blame me pete lol its probably been over 3 months of pretty much no flying at all and just a handful before that so i was feeling very rusty indeed. but i always appreciate the kind words. your not so bad yourself pete. nice to meet you again and im sure we may pop down again in the future
                      but it was damn scary to see those flames coming from beneath the canopy for sure. first and hopefully last ill see.

                      also im pretty sure haydn has said this particular esc has been in use for some years (i think he said 4years but dont quote me on that) so i wouldn't be panicking just yet.
                      dont ever forget the fun

                        G i think it was the edge weights and the 65c,s combined..we checked our testing so many times and the flights on our 800 with the 40c,s and the nhp,s where perfect!
