ebay issue

won an item on the ebay over a two weeks ago not recieved it yet, i contacted the seller and he says it has been sent last monday infact. should have got to me by now we both agree, giveing him the benifit of doubt im going to wait until this friday then may be put in a ebay complaint, what would you guys do ????

If you are patient then give benefit of doubt. If not then lodge a PayPal dispute. It normally greases the wheels if nice doesn't work.

there are clear guidelines for this on ebay/paypal. your better following them to the letter or they will dismiss your claim if it comes to it. it is however the sellers problem to prove it was sent insured so your money is pretty safe.

I would wait for the minimum time eBay states then put in a complaint to eBay an they will resolve the problem normally a refund I also beleive PayPal have a dispute thing as well

I would also be inclined to ask for a copy of the proof of postage which most reputable sellers keep untill item is received

Don't make the mistake I did and wait too long...after a certain amount of time (I can't remember how long) you can no longer lodge a dispute.

just check on his postage to see how long it was suposed to take as some give anywhere from next day to 10 day delivery

I'm a seller on eBay and last week have had one person say that the original item didn't arrive (value £1.55 inc 2nd class postage) so I sent another first class, that apparently didn't arrive so I sent another one first class recorded to ensure they got it...got to keep your customers happy to keep your top rated status and discounts!!!

If it was a private sale I'd ask them to send proof of postage of the item, give them a reasonable timeframe and say if it's not resolved you'll start a dispute.

If it was a stock shop item I'd contact the seller and ask them to send another one signed for delivery and give you the number or send the original tracking number or proof of postage.

i certainly wouldnt try to rip the guy off by saying the item hadnt arrived to try to obtain a second. his delivery time was 6 to 8 days, i contacted the guy and he does seem genuin so im going to wait to the end of the week before starting a dispute with ebay.

get the complaint in immediately as the process takes a while but can be cancelled insdtantly.

I had a complete t@sser claim i had sent him a used iphone battery last week and got my 2nd neg in 7 years....
As if i would send a dud for £3.. the packet it was in was opened because i had looked at it and thought no chance i could do that.
he just assumed it was a dud because it was opened and didnt even give me a chance to comment.
i get so peaved at ebays rules now.. and folks trrying to scam you for any amount. rec del all the way

Get the claim in as soon as possible as Ebay and Paypal are a useless sack of monkey s**t, they will worm out of any claim wherevev they can, most things sent through the Royal Mail get you a proof of sending, if he has that and can prove that then he will be able to claim for reimbursement up to i believe about £32 is the standard cover, if it was more expensive and he didn't insure it then i'm afraid more fool him.
Ebay always seem to side with the wrong party in claims so good luck on that one.

As an example my mum sold an item recently on Ebay, sent it Royal Mail, next day received feedback from purchaser to see they were over the moon with the item and it was exactly as described, two weeks later the purchaser then lodged a complaint with Ebay and Paypal to say they had not received the item!!!!!

The investigation was opened and my mum provided the proof of sending and the feedback from the buyer to say how pleased they were with the item, and yeah, you guessed it, they gave the buyer her money back !!!!

The cover afforded by Paypal in general isn't worth the paper it's written on.

ok, still waiting for my ebay stuff, contacted the seller but no reply, so tomorrow the claim for not receiving my goods goes in to ebay, this is the first time ive had this happen, some nasty b******s out there.
