Lipo cycling

Hi All

Was just thinking my lipos have been used about 40-50 times and never fully cycled. I fly till about 3.7-3.8v then charge next time I use them. Should I do a full cycle with then so they get the full range of 3.0 to 4.2 volts through them or doesn't it make any difference?

No.

Taking a lipo below 3.3V can damage it in ways that reduce cycle life and/or capacity. Under load you're probably down to 3.3V/cell which then recovers back to 3.7V once you've finished flying, and that's where you want to be with your lipos. Just make sure you balance them at least every 5 cylces to keep them tip top.

Dies any one actually still believe it is safe to do anything other than a balanced charge on a lipo every time?

These days when balance chargers are both cheap and easy to find it seems an unnecessary risk to do any other type of charge on a pack with more than one cell.

? Why would you not balance them every charge this has got to be best practice.
