  • I don't like hard mounting electronics as vibration is a killer. So I usually use rubber eyelets but squash them pretty hard. It just takes the edge off any vibes that find their way to the servos. However, as Thomas says you can hard mount quite happily.

        • While we are on the subject of canopies, Could the rex 500 experts tell me if this is too close please? It's about 3mm on both sides.

                Thanks

Mine was actually rubbing so "had" to rasp a little of the beautiful canopy away which broke my heart TBH..

Made a good job of it and you can't tell so I'm happy on that account but you should not have to take a rasp to a new canopy to make it fit..

Its either that or move the canopy poles and modify those but again not needed on a new build, It should fit a breeze..

                • 5mm clearance should do it, so just a little more to be safe.

                          • Hi guys, my trials and tribulations continue with this fantastic little heli.

Since the crash ive rebuilt but im now dogged by nodding. before the crash it was completely smooth, fantastic. so I know its not headspeed as that hasnt changed.

Ive alread changed the 3 shafts (Main, Spindle and tail output) the nodding look forwards and backwards although it was too windy to really get a totally clear look, in normal the nod if fairly slow and consistant flicking it into idle up makes the nod smaller and faster but still there. Ive also tried tightening and loosening the blades to see if that had any effect and it doesnt.

Now as spares are still scarce and unless someone wants to give me their 500 so I can swap bits over, I need really to know what the most likely things are going to be so I can investigate and get the bits accordingly.

                            so lets hear the ideas.
                            All the best
                            Tony.
