CC Bec is pants, failed on the first flight and decked my new SAB's (which tracked and flew very nicely I might add). It seems to have work hardened at one of the solder joints and the input wire snapped off. On the bright side, the align 2500 didn't puff and performed supprisingly well and this new medusa kicked out a lot more power than the old and worn on I had in there before.

I am still not convinced it needs a separate power supply,i would like to know how many fliers are using the BEC trouble free and how many people have crashed due to what could be a problem with their particular BEC and not a reflection on the norm
There will soon be a lot of these babys out there so a picture should emerge

I for one have had no problems but I'm unable to use my esc bec now due to the fact that it blew up when the CC Bec shorted out- Also blew up Ash's spare ESC...Smokey living room...

Given the sample of four currently flying (raptorheli2, trev, barney, myself) it would appear 3 out of those 4 have a problem. That's just us here on the forum. Not looking good stats to me unless we are all REALLY unlucky.
On to more positive news......
Flew the 6S 3200 today and the 5S 4200.
These two (bearing in minds it's first cycle) both gave excellent results. the 5S 4200 in my view out performs 6S 2200. We did have to run it on the wrong pinion though (16T) it should be better on 15T.
I will get a few more cycles on them before logging but for those considering 5S 4200 it definitely gets a thumbs up on first impressions. Packs came off pretty much stone cold as well, so lifetime should be excellent. Both Trev and I were eying it and thinking hmmm, do we need 6S ???

I heard this a few days ago from someone I would trust pretty much and he said the CC BEC is only good for about 3A and is just a stop gap to cover the shortcomings in their BEC's built into the ESC's
I'd stick with the Hercules if you are not gonna trust the Align built in one...Phil
