I bought two packs both align 6s2p that were on offer with the heli.
Thats 10 mins of flying in the first hour then the heli gets put away till next weekend. Like I say biggest mistake of my life.
Now I could pay £170 to for another 6 to 7 minuet flight in that first hour every weekend but to be honest it's not worth the hassle. I can get out my 50 ic & fly nearly all afternoon on a gallon of fuel.
I'm not going to get into the economics of electric over ic with you as I know electric is as viable as glow but only if you have money in the bank & the will to hand it all over to aurora in exchange for 10 revolution lipo packs at £170 a throw. I dont have that luxury as I'm doing this hobby at the other end (shoe string end) to what some people are able to do here. Top & bottom of it for me is that only small electrics work for me the 450 is as I say the best purchase I ever made. I'm just worried that buying a 500 would actualy cost me flying time as I would then have two packs to charge on my one charger.

that's an open debate....it's a bit like saying I'm only going to buy an egg cup of fuel to take to the field. Electrics you buy all your fuel (several packs worth, a years supply) at once.

I have around 10 packs, so I can fly as often as you nitro guys, the flight is just 3 mins shorter. Only difference is I just bought a shed load of fuel in one hit.

Understand........several options here I think.....

1. don't buy a 500
2. buy an additional cellpro 4S at £50 ish
3. sell current charger and buy the new Cellpro 10S which charges two packs at once

I was going to suggest just get another charger,but like you said,you can't justify the cost,,, me I'am getting the 500 as I need a model I can fly at my workplace( private grounds) ,flying the 600 makes me realise how small the actual area is, plus it's easier to store at work- at the end of the day,it's what you can afford, me, I work , pay my bills, fly heli's,,, nuff said.

realraptors now show the kits at 255 and 279 respectively with no blades. if thats the case i'm getting the FG version i think and buy sabs.

I'll be getting a 500 in april next year. Mainly because I can use 450 packs in it. I allready have £200 of packs, so it makes alot of sense to me. Align 600 electrics don't as the batterys are so expensive. The thought of nose diving into the ground (damaging the pack/canopy/blades/shafts), £300 of damage is too much!

I want something electric, bigger than the 450, more stability, more power and made by Align...It really is a no brainer for me . I can't wait to read all the reviews.

Ash, I am genuinely amazed you don't get one as a freebee. With all the work you do promoting align products it takes the **** they don't give you a kit.

I'm not complaining, Align UK give me some support........Align Taiwan are pretty hopeless in that regard.

Did that 2 wks ago,honest, the damage was light-usual suspects being main shaft,spindle.boom,blades,flybar,main frame carrier and u/cart- slighty cracked canopy- total bill less than £60- mostly based on the fact that you get 2 spares per packet and I had a spare set of blades hanging around-only use cheap Glass blades from Ripmax for practise, save the carbons for when you are really confident,,, battery being inside so to speak has survived 4 crashes like this so far,, funny,up until I started practising 3d, I did'nt have ANY crashes in 7 months !!!!!!!.

That happened to me last week.......crash was £125.....which included the blades. Pack was undamaged. Mine was a spektrum rx reset, it went in full power, I couldn't even hit hold as it ignored it.

Sorry to hear about that mate,,, hey, maybe ALL my crashes could have been from the same fault- NO, it was definately me,dumb thumb again.
