Think your prayers might just be answered Trev, not only Rain lots of wind also.

The jury is still out on this new 500 for me.
The 450 se v2 was the best buy of my life.
The trex 600 E was the worst.
I'm loathed to make a mistake as big as that again so will be firmly on the fence for the foreseable future.

Just out of curiosity, i'm going to sound like a complete noob here but i was just thinking...
Instead of starting a second 600N project, how much would one of these cost to get into the air?
I live in luton at uni so cant bring a nitro down (have been a nitro head for 4-5 years ) but if i could get out of the town this might be just the thing?

The only reasons to buy 50 sized electrics are these :

You are power mad
You have an electric only field

Outside of these reasons it gets bloody expensive.

The 500 runs on two 450 packs.....most of us have 450s (or equivalent) so it's easy to buy into without spending a fortune on packs.

Servos: hs82-mg x 3 = £60 ish
Gyro: 401 plus 9650 / 9257 prices vary, depends where you get it from
rx: £40

it's between £500 & £600 if you buy everything brand new

that's an open debate....it's a bit like saying I'm only going to buy an egg cup of fuel to take to the field. Electrics you buy all your fuel (several packs worth, a years supply) at once.

I have around 10 packs, so I can fly as often as you nitro guys, the flight is just 3 mins shorter. Only difference is I just bought a shed load of fuel in one hit.

I'd hang on a while, there's bound to be teething problems and part updates within weeks of it hitting the shelves. Align seem to work pretty quick to change problems so sit tight til spring.

Yeah this can often turn into a PITA as it gets confusing what actual parts fit or which ones you need, been there got T shirt from Trex 450X onwards...

There are some new 82 digitals coming, supposedly before Xmas so they could be worth a look. Not sure of price but supposed to be reasonable

Yeah the 9650's have come up in conversation but I'm just hoping the Hitecs will be reasonable quality but far cheaper...also I'm 5 mins from Amerang
