the trex kit now does not come with a gyro. you get motor and esc, judging by the price of the kit and previous align trends then no, you won't get a kit only.
I'd like to point out that I got 3rd in Clubmans 2007, 3rd in 3d masters Sportsmans 2007, 10th in Masters class in Taiwan (Align) 2007, 5th in Masters class at UK 3D Championships 2007 so I am sure I know how to setup and fly a heli to get results .
Yes and I came in 6th in 2003, and further down the following year..

Anyways. I havent flown the 4200 pack at all as yet and i have no intention of putting it on my 500. However I have seen it fly and in my opinion it is too heavy.
There is a point of diminishing returns on weight versus performance versus flight time versus pack life.
The 4200 is on the edge of the performance limit. Too heavy. Examine the comparison between and rappy 90, fury and synergy. All different weights, however the light ones fly better.
I can see how the pack would be good for general poodling about though
Some people think the 4200 Mah packs are too heavy, some think they have a use depending on flying style bla bla bla ! Some people can even tell by watching video's.
I only want the opinion of someone who has actually flown one, and compared it to other packs ...now who could that be ??????
Also whats this about critisising people announcing their credentials? I for one find it hard to filter the bullshit from the good advice. I personally will give more credence to Trevors posts now I know his achievements. Sometimes everyone thinks they are an expert on the forums. And they hide behind regurgitated information from other post. I am sorry for the tone of this post but things seem to be getting a bit personal about something as trivial as a the weight of a li-po battery in a helicopter very few actually own. /RANT
Well Seize if you want some accurate information on what packs are currently doing the business just take a trip across to the Freak/RR as its quite obvious you are oblivious to whats going on elsewhere in the world.
Iv'e added a link so you can see first hand a 9257 mini servo working with a 500 and a somewhat lighter pack

It was in response to Barney's attack on my style / setups...Was just re-enforcing the fact that I know what I'm doing, not to boast. Hence this bit:
so I am sure I know how to setup and fly a heli to get results
I guess this machine will take the same route as the 450 did in that everyone will head the light route and then bulk them up at a later date...If you don't wanna fly the 4200's then get a lighter pack, that's all there is to it. I can't see what all the fuss is about? The way I see it, if you haven't flown it first hand, then you can't comment on it since you don't have the first hand experience to go on.
Go for it, I'll be taking the 4200's out for a spin in a mo if Ash can spare an hour for lunch. Might fly the 2200's but it's bloomin windy here so might make the model too light...
I have a very blinged up Robbe Eolo that has ...
a Hacker C40 9L - with a matching Hacker ESC and a Ubec + a decent HH Gyro and a good digital tail servo. Also some good FP 2500mah EVO20 11.1v Lipos.
I'm afraid that motor won't really work in anything other than the Eolo or a JR Voyager. It's too high revving for anything else of comparible size and too big and heavy for the smaller helis.
