Taking the 450s as the equivalent 450 size price, I would of expected the 500 to be nearer the £250 mark seeing as it's not the same spec as the 450 V2.

If you take the lower price of £290 which does include the motor etc, for an extra £40 you could get a Trex 600 Nitro Sport with OS engine.

I personally think its to much for an electric 30 sized plastic Helicopter.

Although, I'm sure it flies great and will sell well regardless of my opinion.

      Cheers

ah, but it's a totally new heli, so initially it will be more expensive.....that's how sales works.

          Shame really.

At £250 it would have taken a lot of sales from the 30 class of Nitro as well if you add the cost of the 30 engine.

I'll wait until they drop in price

well, it is very close to 250. it comes with blades and motor/esc....not bad imo for what it is. would struggle to put a 30 in air for same money altough this isn;t a 30 class machine.

            cheers

I was assuming the head is equivalent to the 600 head, metal in design.

I dont think the price is that bad personally, I always find it hard to find the justification of equivalent prices between electric and IC as appart from the kit little else has the same construction or material costs.

I didn't realise it was a plastic head, think I'll stick with what I've got, just assumed it would be mostly metal

I could be wrong about the plastic in the head.

                  Wouldn't be the first time

i'm sure the videos showed a metal head bock atleast. i can't remember about the rest of it. not to say the production model will have that anyways.

                    cheers

Ive been so close to buying a 600 but its always the batteries thats put me off, so far ive only damaged one in my 450. which for the number of times its hit the deck aint bad.

This was the thing that sparked my interest with the 500. a more stable heli with batteries that I have already got, if its a 3x 3s config im laffin. If not then rethink time.

When are we gonna build them? We can't do it during the day because that means that we're missing out on daytime flying and we can't do it at night because we'd miss out on nightime flying! Have enough trouble fitting in breakfast, lunch and dinner! Schedule a rainstorm please...

I'd hang on a while, there's bound to be teething problems and part updates within weeks of it hitting the shelves. Align seem to work pretty quick to change problems so sit tight til spring.

we'll soon let you know if there's a problem. No need to hang on til spring unless there actualy is a problem.....and even then it's highly unlikely to be a "it doesn't fly" type problem.
