      Don't go back - he's a tw@t!
Visiting his site puts his visitor count up which allows him to sell advertising to vendors.
Vendors need imploring to stop advertising on that site - he's only in it for himself and no other - certainly not the hobby as he's proven time and time again.

If you do go there - don't click on any ads - if you are there and see a vendors website advert that you want to visit - type the URL in manually or google search for them, anything except giving his site another click on an advert!

I'm all for supporting the vendors - I just wish the vendors weren't supporting that a$$hole.
      </rant>

Sorry about that - I feel a bit better now
      Cheers,

The Hitec HS 5245MG is a 9650 sized servo and although it's .01 sec slower it is srtonger, also metal geared, oh, and 30 quid cheaper. I have three left over from a Logo that will fit in nicely. I know Skyline are stocking them for the 500.

            • yes buying the 9650's here is a rip off for whatever reason (ripmax i assume) so the hitec 81, 82, 85, 5082, 5245 are all viable depending what you want to do.

              cheers

I can't see them on Skylines site but I'm sure Bob put a header in his news section saying they were the best for the 500 and he was selling them.

Got mine from Inwoods, just gave them Als price and they matched it.

                  • Tail servo wise Trev and I are still experimenting, 9257 was better than the 9650 but it looks like both of us will end up running a standard servo like the 8900 as mini servos just don't cut it. I think Trev's is running the 8900 for the first time tomorrow, I'll be there vid cam at the ready

                        Thanks again Ashley,,

I wont be getting it until early Jan so i will make a servo decision in a while,i would be keen to see Trevs views on running a standard servo on it

                        • Just seen the Jason Chow video and he is using a 9254,i have one of them spare so thats the tail sorted, probably stick 9650`s on cyclic and probably a Spartan or 401 for a gyro

                          • I took the 8900 for a spin today and wow, what a difference, much much better than the other mini servos that I've tried I'll have to buy another one now

Also tried the sabs, didn't get out of the hover with them as they seemed to vary in tracking, one second perfect, the next about an inch out at the tips, going to see if we can try some different ones just in case Ash's were duff...

                            • What are peoples opinions of servos?

I was going to go for 9650s and 9527 on the tail.
However, I am now getting drawn by Hitec HS5245MG with a 9527 or maybe 9254 on the tail.
                              Any comments on the Hitecs?
                              Cheers, Lee.

                              • 9650's seem fine for cyclics, had no problems with them...Use a full sized servo on the tail with the Trex 600e tail servo mount bracket.
