Crap EC5's

I bought some EC5 connectors from Align Trex and they are terrible. Cannot get the metal part through the back of the plastic housing at all. Yet it goes into the front fine? How is that any use to man or beast?

Does anyone know where I can get decent one's from?

Annoying set back meaning no flying tomorrow.

I searched for Eflite one's and found some. Thanks, only going to use Eflite one's from now on as I know they are the correct one's. Looking at the eflite connectors and mine they are different meaning mine you can only get the connector through the front of the plastic housing, i.e. completely unfit for purpose!

those/mine are fed through the back as you usually would expect it ... the quality is very good and shipping is superfast ...

I guess the ones you have now have a different top cup - received them once as well - since that mistake I just buy them off ebay as they were always the correct ones ...

Looked at the pic they have and the one's in the pic are the same as mine so no use. Think I'll stick with Eflite one's but thanks anyway. Guess I could feed the battery wire through but it's a royal pain in the rear!

I'm a user of the EC3 and EC5 connectors... I bought some cheap ones off ebay once and they were crap - different from the others I had bought from the model shop... Seems that with everything these days theres plenty of cheap fakes going around...


The genuine item makes an excellent connector imo...

It's just the difference between eflight and quantum connectors. Eflite push in the back and can go to 10awg much more convenient, quantum ones you have to feed the wire thru first which restricts them to 14awg or less. It's no biggy really other than that. I use both.

For some reason these one's seem almost impossible to feed in without buckling the plastic housing. Ordered some Eflite's for now. Should be fine. Cheers all.

cheap folk like me that use turnigy batts with their red 4mm connectors pre-soldered also bought some to make up charge leads etc. With those again you feed the wire through, solder the bullet and then tug it back into the housing. It locks solid in the base and never goes anywhere. Hardy an issue to do and I'm guessing your connectors work the same.

I use Quantum EC5 (they aren't that cheaper than Eflite ones) and put them in as normal from the back, also use 10AWG wire with no problems. Purchased at fast lads. EC5 Connectors 10 Pairs O-FS-EC5-10 (out of stock unfortunately)

I must be doing something wrong then as these seem really hard to get in the front and impossible to get in the back. I've buckled all the sets now anyway and cracked one of the housings so will wait for the Eflite EC5's. Deans are easier! In fact I have soldered up deans fine for now and will use those for a couple of days.

Yeah, tell me about it. I can solder deans to anything in 10 seconds, but still struggle (and tbh don't trust myself) with EC5s.

I bought fast lads quantum ones and switched to ebay specials a day later which are perfect

I've also tried the quantum ones with no success! In fact im going to use the bullets on my power supply and will now only use eflight ones. I got really pi**ed with them never again! The eflight ones are so easy.
