  • Glow driver options

I'm looking for a IC controlled Glow supply similiar to the Rcats and Radio South glow driver systems. Are these the only ones available and only from the States..

    thanks Brian

Only from the US I think.

I'm sure SMC looked into stocking them but the margin was laughable so they binned it.

I use a 12v one for my cars and have an on board one on my Heli as I found my standard ones(I had 3) were always flat cos I'm a slacker

Thanks Smoothhound "cos I'm a slacker" LOL........

Paul..Ian my flying buddy has a RCATS..works really well. Ian's been running his for at least 6 months without requiring a charge! (he can't remember where he got it though..so long ago. 'Senile git' after all he was 38 on Friday)

Yes the Radio South I saw was yours..you not happy with it?

I've have a 12v power panel that keeps burning up plugs (faulty) so just got a wee 2v clip on..but doesnt fit the glow extension I have on both N's..Sod's law

RCATS I really like the idea of it sensing the plug draw and adjusting accordingly preventing early failures...plugs can be expensive, plus I like to be 100% self sufficent at the field..

I'll interogate him again in a mo..in case he has a flashback.

i'm happy enough with mine barney but i wanted an rc cats one purely because of the battery as i hate charging things every week. (not that i charge my radio south one often, as i said maybe every 3-4 months)

it's 100 dollars stateside and at the exchange rate just now is very tempting.

              cheers
