450 pro whirring noise at high head speed?

just stuck four packs through her, she flies fine - Just makes a funny noise thats all! Cannot for the life of me work out what it is. No obvious vibrations or anything...weird.

I bet when you do you don't have the whine any more. It's not a big issue, just some are cut a little 'sharper' than others and make more noise. Was it an Align one by any chance?

That's a good point. You could try a very thin coat of silicone on the main gear, usually helps to quieten things down.

Have you tried a bit of silicone spray on the belt ?. Is the belt starting to fray ? Not too loose ?

It doesnt make the noise at all times, its only at the higher head speeds. and it kind of pulses... its like a merrr...merrr.merrr sound. Not a constant whine. And its a "new" Sound from 65% throttle to 85%. Ill have to get a video.

I tried putting some lube on there but it was probably the wrong type. Might stick some WD40 on there, see if that quietens it down. Yes its an align pinion.

Some pinions do make more noise than others, and I wouldn't stick WD40 anywhere near your helicopter.

It doesnt make the sound with no blades attached spinning on the bench.

Could it be the one way slipping?
