  • almost lost me pinky lol

3rd flight of belt cp and first flight in a strong wind. i had problems with tail rotor and it started to rain so i quickly picked it up and my TX and accidentally flicked the idle up switch...FK!! THAT HURT!!

need new main gear chewed to bits, the plastic on the wood blades cracked so new blades and its just as well cos i got this heli new and the main shaft was bent bad and the tail shaft was so badly bent it was literally like a banana.

the pic doesn't show how much its swollen since lol

i don't like plasters, wounds take ages to heal you need the air. besides my cam is right here but my plasters are miles away downstairs.

update: no plasters but have cleaned wound and applied an old pair of probably clean underpants to close the wound.

i actually feel like a twot, what a stupid thing to do eh. even before i got my first collective pitch heli i was worried about that idle up switch, to easy to knock, gonna have to mod it somehow.

                      planks do more damage...

on a serious note it just goes to show just how much damage even the small helis can do imagine if it caught you in the eye.

thats a nasty one. i was just thinking it was at about 50% throttle when it hit my hand i wonder if at 100% if i would have broke my hand. you're right a thrash from a large rc heli is a scary one. i will never pick up my heli with it switched on again thats for sure, even if it really lashes it down, it could have been a lot worse. i think my knuckle stopped it from completely taking that chunk or skin off.

yes i encourage all electric fliers to plug in once they are on the flight line and not in the pits we had a similar incident with one of the guys at dmhc carrying a 450l out plugged in.
