I flew it for months on that reg with no issues......but I guess after all this it was just lucky. It won't be staying on there long.....only long enough for me to have a look see as to what's going on.

One other thing to check, the cable to the Rx Satelite, check that the black cable isn't broken

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

I was thinking of making up a distribution board, pulling all the power crimps out of the servo plugs and splitting them. Then running the servos off one power supply, and fitting a little AAA nimh Rx pack that powers only the receiver. this would cure all the voltage issues because the servos will work through quite low voltage transients, and anyway will recover pretty much instantly. The rx on its own will run for ages off a 250mah nicad. That might actually weigh less than adding the extra stuff.

Exactly! That saves me the trouble of typing all that up; it seems an obvious solution.

            Spectrujs info on power requirements:

            And the AR7000 info

            Voltage Range: 3.5V-9.6V

So if you isolate the servos from the RX, run them from the regulator you can power the Rx direct from the 7.4v lipo on a nitro - I suggest from the balance plug.

Or alternativly, splice in to a servo lead with a diode and battery pack and then you are only worrying about "filling in the gaps" in the supply, similar to using the capacitor option.

Separating of the supply is better but splicing in might be good.
I think the servos keep working, but slowly, down to really low voltage. Is that true?

                  Brownout - cause solved

OK, on the rebuild I found the problem.

The 600 flybar seesaw has some small screws that bolt it to the headblock. They sit behind the upper mixer arms. One had worked loose and jammed the mixer arm. This caused a servo stall, followed by a regulator cut out, followed by an RX reset.

You can't see these screws as they sit behind the mixers.....so that's added to my pre-flight check.

However, I still think the voltage hold up devices like the Fromeco would have helped, as I only needed a very short period of time to realise something was wrong and hit hold......the Fromeco may have given me that. As it was I hit hold after the rx brown out.....so nothing happened.

Also the splicing above being discussed would have worked.
