Not read all the posts just a few starters so I'm assuming the is the combo kit which come complete so why all the posts about changing so many different parts, mines the combo & use batteries from 2650 through to 3300 & all perform much same way with power & time, the difficulty is getting the 3300 in otherwise c&g makes no difference, most of mine are 3000 turnigy & with flat throttle 88% is plenty for any 3D flier unless your one of those the do mental 3D.
3gx is perfect mine is on 2.1 & with no issue & your welcome to try my settings & with the stock parts these heli have the feel of a 700.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

I'll be using Vbar and there is a lot of talk of it not working well with the stock head on the combo. Will see for myself I guess but may have to use different servo arms or blade grips........I think.

What problems are getting reported using VBar.

I put DFC head on my 500 ESP and full VBar and heli had the shakes ever since.

Have rebuilt heli from front to back, EVERYTHING is new now except motor, esc and 2 servos.

Just waiting to get hold of some accurate weighing scales to check the weight of each head part.
Balanced the blades, checked blade C of G,tried two sets of Align 3G blades, no difference.
Found if I put two layers of electrical tape on the end of one blade the shakes reduce but still there intermittently.

Have the DFC on the 500 efl pro and flying great with 3GX, not going to try VBar on it just yet, want to get some flying done, been grounded too long messing with the other 500. I'm going to have to have a reset up of arm lengths as I only get 25% swash at 8deg. Flying OK but I know that's not the best setup.
            Good luck with yours Dan.

I have a new one already. Still have the old one and could repair but trust would be a worry. Will get it to Steve Smith and get a small heli to put it in like a 250.

There are reports Dan of the plastic gears stripping with FBL on the 500. I had a recent crash and it is about all i could think was that i stripped a gear after someone mentioned it as a possibility. Suddenly lost all aileron control and it rolled right and into the ground. No brownout and just flying in a straight line when it happened. Ofc it could have been something else, but just a thought before you do change the metal gears to plastic.

Have gone all metal now, guess i will see how much more damage i do the next time it goes in.
